Alice Hannah Mount died at 71 at her home near Caroline Center . She died of cerebral apolexy related to chronic mycarditis. Sh e was 71 years and 1 day old. Ella Richards was the informant . Arthur C Hartnagel was the physician. She was survived by he r husband and 5 children. Ella E. Richards, Mrs. Guy L. Porter , Mrs Eugene Phillips, William F. Richards, Arthur L. Richards a nd 21 grandchildren survived her. The notice appeared in the It haca Journal, Monday pm, 11 June 1934. Funeral services were he ld Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 pm at the home and the Rev. W.J . Hastings officiated. Raymond H. Middaugh, 319 State St, Ithac a was the undertaker. Burial was at Brooktondale in Quick's Cem etary.

My grandmother cooked a lot and always left a lot of f rosting to lick. She said that Santa could get in easy even i f there was a fire in the fire place because the door wasn't loc ked--but it was and she did unlock it but I knew she was going t o lock it again when I went to bed. There were great things in t he morning so I decided that I was wrong. She's the one who tol d me the coal man would get me if I didn't eat my crust. No i t was the crust man but when the coal man came I was sure it wa s the end. I hid behind the coach and my grandmother explaine d the coal man and didn't reasure me enough that I ever lef t a crust again until I got false teeth. Grandfather Richards d rove wagons and sleighs through the woods and usually took us al ong. Showed us where he had found the clover honey that we ha d for breakfast. Hauled in wood to burn or visited the neighbor es or just for a ride. They were always written up as Church go ing people but if they went that winter they didn't take us. W e were there for three or four months when I was four. My mothe r always said that the only spanking she ever got was when she s assed her mother. Her sisters complained about their father fo r telling our mother how pretty she was and they thought she wa s impossible enough with out that."
