Peter SHELDON ⁽⁶⁸⁰⁾ (photo) was born on MAR 18 1844 in Cape Vincent, Jefferson Co., NY.⁽¹⁾ He served in the military from NOV 15 1861 to JUN 10 1865.⁽⁶⁸¹⁾⁽⁶⁸²⁾⁽⁶⁸³⁾ He enlisted Oct. 15, 1861 at Sackets Harbor, NY and was mustered in as a private on Dec. 9, 1861. He was shot in the left foot during the battle of the Second Bull Run on Aug. 30, 1862. He reenlisted as a veteran on Jan. 4, 1864. On Aug. 19, 1864 he was captured at the battle of Weldon Railroad. He was confined at Richmond, VA on Aug. 22 and then sent to Salisbury, NC on Oct. 9. On Feb 27, 1865 he was paroled at NE Ferry, NC. He reported at Camp Parole, MD on Mar 10, 1865. He was musterd out of the service at Bells Cross, Va on June 10, 1865.
Co.E. 94th, NY.Volunteers He died on AUG 15 1927 in Roberts Corners,Jefferson Co.,NY. He died at his home after a linguring illness. He was buried on AUG 17 1927 in Roberts Corners,Jefferson Co.,NY.
